Beginning with a provisional cast on, knit the item as instructed then follow these steps for the 3 needle bind off.
Undo the provisional cast on yarn and place stitches onto a long circular needle or 2 straight knitting needles, dividing stitches equally
Stitches divided equally onto 2 needles, or 1 long circular.
Work with the the right sides of the fabric facing in.
Use a third needle to knit through the first two stitches of both needles at once.
This will result in a single stitch. Repeat so there are 2 stitches on the right hand needle.
Cast off a stitch by lifting the first stitch over the second stitch on the right hand needle.
1 stitch remaining. repeat the steps above until you have cast off all of the live stitches.
