Worked from the bottom up, Kinta features an easy to memorise eyelet mesh pattern that is readily adapted to make the most of your yardage. Resulting in a V-shaped shawlette with tapered ends. A sweet Honeycomb pillow for Felix for Solstice ☀️ A sweet Honeycomb pillow for Felix for Solstice ☀️only 13 years in the making! I knit the stack of hexs in 2012 planning to make the gorgeous @lykkefanten Six’es throw and carried them along for 5 house moves! A few months back Felix was talking about the cleverness of bees & their honeycomb structure & I remembered my hexs. Not enough for a throw but plenty for a pillow which now lives on his bed 💛 satisfying to finally use these - there may be enough left for a tea cosy! Although now I think of if the padded one in @tinyowlknits amazing Beekeeper’s quilts would be perfect for a tea cosy 🐝 I make Andy a fresh one each year or so & he likes it to be multi-layered & well insulting to keep his tea piping hot. I’m a coffee drinker myself! I used a black denim for the back snd sewed it all together my sewing machine & overlocker (after hand seaming the pieces). I cut into a few of the hexs to square the edges (I hadn’t knit all of the half sizes in the pattern yet), to stabilise it I ironed a light iron on interfacing.
