PATTERN DETAILS
Choose between option A or B.
Both options result in a wearable crescent shaped shawl with a lace component, option A features Intarsia, option B has no intarsia.
Suitable for a confident advanced beginner to intermediate knitters.
YARN
Fingering weight
Both Option A & B:
C1: 390 yd/357 m
C2: either 340 yd/311 m or 5 colour gradient/mini skein set, each skein consisting of 80 yd/73 m, Colours in gradient/mini set will be referred to as C2-A through C2-E*.
C3: 355 yd/325 m
*Colours in the sample fade from Darkest, C2A to lightest; C2E.

Option A: Sunshine Yarns, Classic Sock (fingering weight/4-ply, 100% Superwash Merino, 425 yd/389 m per 115 g) C1: Thunder, C2A – E: Turning Point, Mystic, Visions, Blue Heart, Spirited, C3: Ghost Whisperer
Option B: Miss Babs, Yummy 2-ply, (fingering weight, 100% superwash Merino, 400 yd/366 m per 110 g), C1: Interstellar
Sunshine Yarns, Classic Sock Shimmer Sock (fingering weight/4-ply, 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Silk, 390 yd/356 m per 100 g) C2: Orchid Blossom, C3: Dusted Peony
Colour Notes
This will work beautifully with a fade with C1 being the darkest colour and C3 the lightest.
There needs to be a strong contrast between C1 and C3.
I used a 5 colour fade for C2 for my Option A sample and a single colour for C2 for my Option B sample.
C1: The Sky: Best to lean toward a solid/semi solid here
C2: Ocean, sunset sky or landscape: depending on your colour theme. Solid, variegated or speckle will all work well here
C3: The Moon: Speckle yarn is lovely for this, softly variegated or solid are also good options.
